I would like to share some motivating life sayings on tenacity and courage that keep us up and moving. Tenacity and boldness are the qualities that drive us forward despite our fears and keep us moving despite our despair and failures. Without it we would still be living in a stone age on one continent without any hope for a better life. There would never be any inventions, daring discoveries and adventures and life might just be a dull and boring routine. Thank God, we are different…At least some of us. I hope those motivating quotes will inspire you to make a change in life and reach whatever you’re after. Just make sure you’re after the right things.
“Even when you fall on the ground you still move forward.” V. Kiam
It’s obvious and enlightening thought when you think about it. We seldom fall back and if we fall on our face, it’s always forefront – thus we move forward a few feet. This might not make a big change, but it’s still good to feel that you’re not getting behind.
“When you reach the end of the rope, make a knot and hold unto it patiently.” T. Jefferson
Every one will reach his own end of the rope one or the other way. It can be his business, career, marriage, health and other life issues. The most important question is are we able to hold unto what is left and still get up? It’s easier to get loose of what’s left hoping for a new fresh beginning, but it’s much better to save what you have and make something out of it. It’s much easier to fall down, but maybe it’s time to hold unto something, because help is on the way.
“You will never hit a target with a rifle you never shoot.” W. Gretzky (taken from http://quotesaboutlife4u.com/)
“I’ve missed more than nine thousand shots in my career. I’ve lost almost three hundred games. I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot twenty six times and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” M. Jordan
The last two quotes are about our efforts which often turn out to be our failures. The question is: are we willing to sacrifice our pride, take the risk and suffer the contempt every so often? It’s convenient to stay away from taking chances and just make fun of anyone’s misfortune. This way you won’t experience any failures, but you won’t achieve anything either. It’s much harder to give it a shot, miss and make another attempt over and over again. Most people would give up after the second failure, a few would make another try, but only a tiny number of true winners would continue until the victorious moment. Everyone loves Michael Jordan, because he so great at playing basketball, but, I suppose, just a few people know how much it cost him to get to the top. He was tenacious and motivated and that kept him moving forward despite all the missed shots.
It’s not how much shots you have missed in your life, it’s how often you got up on your feet again and made one more shot. According to the last quote about success, Michael Jordan missed nine thousand times, but it doesn’t mean all those shots were mistakes that had to be avoided. They were rather painful, but necessary steps to his success.
